Paint

Please do not put paint cans in with the normal household collection. Take them to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre or donate them to local groups or charities.

Paper

You should put them in your beige bin / clear sack. Click here for further information on what you can put in your beige bin / clear sack. To order a beige bin click here. If you do not have a clear sack put your papers in a carrier bag and put out with your burgundy bin / green box. We will take your carrier bag and leave you a clear sack. Or you can take them to one of the Bring Sites and place in the paper bank.

Pens

Purchase refillable pens, instead of one-use pens.

Phone Books

If you do not want a new BT Phonebook dial 150. You should put them in your beige bin / clear sack. If you do not have a clear sack put your papers in a carrier bag and put out with your burgundy bin / green box. We will take your carrier bag and leave you a clear sack. Or you can take them to one of the Bring Sites and place in the paper bank.Place your old phonebook in the white bag (except Yellow Pages).

Phone Cards

Many charities accept phone cards such as: Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Hillfields, Burghfield, RG7 3YG.

Plastics

You should put plastic bottles in your burgundy bin / green recycling box. Do not put plastic cartons or pots in the box as these can't be recycled by our recycling centre at this time. Try to avoid over-packaged products and try to buy unpacked goods such as loose fruit and vegetables You could buy products such as environmentally friendly washing up liquid in large containers to help minimise packaging waste. Why not take your own shopping bags to the shops. Avoid using Cling Film, use re-sealable containers instead.

Postage Stamps

Many Charities welcome postage stamps such as: - Oxfam - Guide Dogs for the Blind - RSPB.

Postcards

Take them to Help the Aged Shops or Post them to: The National Trust PO Box 33, Hinckley Leics LE10 1ZN

Printer Cartridges

Many shops will now refill ink cartridges, which are then sold at a lower price to the customer When purchasing a new cartridge, ask the shop if they have a recycling bank to return empty ones. Alternatively you can send them to: Tommy's Campaign London SE99 6RD. You can also recycle unwanted empty printer cartridges at Bolton Steps, Knowlsley Street, Bolton BL1 2AP. Bolton Steps are a mental health charity.
